This flood warning remains in force following rainfall on Friday night and Saturday morning. The current river level at Ilkley is 3.3m and has peaked. Levels are now starting to fall, and will continue to do so throughout Saturday (22/02/20). Areas of concern are properties around Denton Road, Middleton Avenue and the Cricket, Football and Rugby Grounds, the sewage works and Denton Bridge. Further bands of rainfall are expected over the coming days and river levels are expected to rise and fall. Please use the GOV.UK website for current river levels and stay aware of your surroundings as river levels can rise quickly with little warning. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. This flood warning has been issued due to quickly rising river levels in response to rainfall on Friday (21/02/20). The current river level at Ilkley is 2.1m and is expected to peak at a level of 3.3m between 4am and 5am on Saturday (22/02/20). Areas of concern are properties around Denton Road, Middleton Avenue and the Cricket, Football and Rugby Grounds, the sewage works and Denton Bridge. Further bands of rainfall are expected over the coming days and river levels are expected to rise and fall. River Wharfe
We are issuing the flood warning for the River Wharfe at Denton Road at Ilkley due to heavy rain associated with Storm Ciara. River levels are rising at Ilkely and will continue to rise all along the Wharfe catchment through Sunday afternoon. The Wharfe level at Ilkley is currently 3.2m and is expected to peak on Sunday afternoon at around 3.5m. We are monitoring the situation closely. Our Incident Room is open, and operational staff are out clearing trash screens. We will update this message in 8 hours or as the situation changes.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall on Saturday 16.03.19. The level at Ilkley is now falling steadily and will continue to fall throughout the night. We expect to be able to remove this flood warning on the morning of Sunday 17.3.19. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message as the situation changes. River Wharfe
River levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall. Areas most at risk are properties on Denton Road and Middleton Avenue. The level is currently 2.2m at Ilkley. Further rainfall is forecast throughout today and levels are expected to reach around 3.1m around 17:45 today (16.03.19) although this could be slightly higher. We are currently expecting levels at Ilkley to drop back below 2.9m between 22:00 and midnight tonight. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the situation.
