River levels have fallen on the River Aire at Castleford including the Aire and Calder Navigation, Navigation Road, Lock Lane, William Street, Hunt Street, Mill Lane, Aire Street, Water View and Weir View.
These are expected to continue to fall through the night and into Sunday, 22/10/2023.
Further flooding is no longer expected in this area. We continue to closely monitor this situation.

River levels remain high on the River Aire at Castleford including the Aire and Calder Navigation, Navigation Road, Lock Lane, William Street, Hunt Street, Mill Lane, Aire Street, Water View and Weir View due to persistent rainfall. Flooding in areas adjacent to the river is still possible through out today, 21st October 2023 and into the evening.

Areas most at risk are locations around Castleford including the Aire and Calder Navigation, Navigation Road, Lock Lane, William Street, Hunt Street, Mill Lane, Aire Street, Water View and Weir View.

River levels across the Aire Catchment rose as a result of the persistent rainfall associated with Storm Christoph. Levels at Castleford have now peaked, but will remain at a level where we expect property, roads and farmland to flood. Areas most at risk are properties at Lock Lane, Castleford. Although levels will remain high for the rest of today Friday 22 January 2021), no further significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.
