After persistent rainfall throughout today, 2nd April 2018, river levels are continuing to rise and are expected to reach a level where flooding is a possibility. The sirens have been sounded. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide an update should the situation change from the current forecast.
Please stay aware of your surroundings and do not put yourself at risk. If you have a flood plan, please start to use it.

River levels are falling but further rainfall is expected through the night with heavier bursts in some locations across the Upper River Calder. The heaviest of the rain is expected between 0600 and 0800 on 22 October. This rain will cause the River Calder to rise again, although not to the levels we saw on Saturday 21 October. We have teams in the field inspecting flood defences and we will continue to monitor the forecasts overnight.

This flood warning has been issued following the intense rainfall this afternoon. We are expecting levels to continue to rise rapidly into the evening. If you have a flood plan please put this into action. We are monitoring the situation and will update when needed
