WARNING. Flooding is expected in East Barra. Act now. The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides means that flooding from the sea is expected during storm Ashley. Flooding is possible to low-lying land, roads and buildings along the coastline in Brevig and Earsary. Gale Force Westerly winds also means that waves may cause wave and spray impacts. The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Castlebay are today Sunday 20th at 21:00 BST. Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. An updated FLOOD WARNING has been issued for East Barra. The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides means that flooding from the sea is expected during Storm Kathleen. Flooding is possible to low-lying land, roads and buildings along the coastline in Brevig and Earsary. Gale Force winds also mean that waves may cause wave and spray impacts. The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Castlebay are on Sunday 7th April at 18:15 BST and Monday 8th April at 06:30 and 19:00 BST. Whilst conditions are improving after Wednesday morning?s high tide, the prevailing weather forecast, along with high spring tides means that flooding from the sea is still possible to low-lying land, roads and buildings along the coastline in Brevig and Earsary. Wave overtopping may also occur locally which may deposit debris on roads. The highest risk is either side of the high tide, around 0715 GMT on Thursday morning.
