South Ford Causeway
A FLOOD WARNING has been issued for South Ford Causeway.
The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected. Strong southerly winds also means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the South Ford Causeway. Flooding is also possible at Creagorry to low-lying land, roads and properties. To find out if the road and causeway are closed please follow the Western Isles Police twitter feed https://twitter.com/WIslesPolice. The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Balivanich are on Thursday 6th at 09:00 GMT.
Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188. Flooding is also possible at Creagorry to low-lying land, roads and properties.
