River levels have risen at the Great Somerford river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is forecast between 20:00 today, 19/12/19, and 12:00 tomorrow, 20/12/19. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for properties at Reybridge. Flood water could be deep and fast flowing, and therefore pose a risk to life. Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 10 hours. River levels are forecast to peak at 23:00 on the 19/12/19 at just over 1.2m. Levels are forecast to remain high until 12:00 on 20/12/19. River levels are high but steady at the Great Somerford river gauge as a result of the rainfall yesterday (Saturday 02/03/19 and overnight into today Sunday 03/11/19) but is expected to rise further again throughout Sunday. Although the river level hasn't risen as much as we thought when this flood warning was issued last night, the risk of flooding continues. We believe there is still a possibility of flooding for properties at Reybridge. We expect river levels to remain high throughout Sunday 03/11/19. We are closely monitoring the situation. The river catchments have now reached saturation and some slow responding rivers across the Upper Bristol Avon are still slowly rising in response to the rainfall we have had over the weekend. The river level from Chippenham to Melksham is starting to fall. Further band of rain with some intense downpours are forecast this afternoon on Monday 14/10/.2019 and into Tuesday. This may cause the river to rise again in response to the rainfall. There is some uncertainty as to the location of the heavy downpours but these are forecast to move gradually northwards overnight. No properties are forecast to flood but there may be some low lying land and roads that could be affected. Please keep upto date with your local weather and stay clear of fast moving rivers. The Environment Agency are monitoring trash screens and sluices using webcams to ensure they are free from debris. We will keep this message updated as the weather forecast or situation changes.

Recent heavy and persistent rain fall has resulted in high river levels which are continuing to rise we expect to meet flood warning levels later this afternoon into this evening (13/10/19) before dropping back overnight . Further rain is forecast tomorrow ( 14/10/19) afternoon into the evening which maybe locally heavy there is some uncertainty in the location and timings. Demountable temporary barriers are currently being deployed in Bradford on Avon. We are monitoring the weather forecasts and how this may further impact rivers. We will update this message as the situation changes.

Around 15 to 20 millimetres of rainfall has fallen in the area overnight which has caused the rivers to rise fairly rapidly over the past few hours which has led to this flood warning being issued. The river levels are still expected to rise further as the rainfall reaches the rivers and passes down through the catchment. Monday is forecast to be a showery day with smaller rainfall amounts which should give the rivers a chance to peak. Currently it is hoped that levels may begin to peak by around 14:30 today.
