We advise that you monitor local water levels and weather conditions and avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads in the Gilsland, Lanercost, Brampton, Irthington, Castle Carrock, Newby East, Longtown and Rockcliffe areas. High river levels are possible on the River Irthing, Cam Beck, Brampton Beck, Castle Carrock Beck, River Gelt, River Lyne, Border Esk, Lochinvar Beck, Rockcliffe Beck and their tributaries.
