River levels are rising on the River South Tyne due to heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River South Tyne. Areas most at risk include Riverside Workshop at John Martin Street. Further rainfall forecast is forecast overnight overnight. River levels will remain high at the Haydon Bridge gauge. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. River levels have risen on the River South Tyne as a result of heavy rainfall and snow melt. Consequently, flooding is possible from 20:15, 15/02/2020, and into Sunday. The area most at risk is the Riverside Workshop at John Martin Street. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the weekend. We expect river levels to remain high over this period. Consequently, flooding to the Riverside Workshop at John Martin Street is expected between 08:00 and 15:00 today, 09/02/20. Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout the morning. We expect river levels to remain high until 15:00 on Sunday, 09/02/20. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
