Flooding of roads, footpaths and farmland remains possible during this period. We are not currently expecting to issue any flood warnings for this area and levels further upstream around Hunsingore are not currently of concern. As further rain is forecast for Sunday, this may cause levels to rise again during Monday, 24/12/2018. The Flood Alert remains in force as levels on the River Nidd at Skipbridge remain high following recent rainfall. The River Ouse also continues to rise slowly and this will keep levels around Skip Bridge high, and they are expected to remain high for the next few days.

Levels of the River Nidd are high and will remain high due to recent rainfall. The River Ouse is also rising and hence the Nidd will remain high for the next few days. We will update this as the situation changes.

River Nidd
The flood alert for the Lower River Nidd has been issued as the river rises slowly following the rainfall over the last few days. The River level at Skip Bridge is currently 3.1m and is expected to rise slowly to a peak of approximately 3.3 m between 6 pm and 8 pm this evening, Wednesday 25th October. The river levels will remain high overnight but are not expected to rise further. The Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation.

This flood alert has been issued in response to rising river levels on the River Nidd due to heavy rainfall last night. The current level at Skip Bridge is 3 metres and rising steadily. No further significant rainfall is forecast on Sunday but levels may still continue to rise throughout the day.
