The river levels throughout the Lower Wharfe continue to fall, with levels at Tadcaster returned to near normal. River levels on the lower reaches of the River Wharfe around Ryther, whilst still high, will continue to fall slowly Tuesday evening 19.3.19 through to Wednesday morning 20.3.19. Our incident staff are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths, low lying land and roads are still at risk. River levels have risen on the River Wharfe as a result of heavy rainfall on Saturday. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads. River levels are expected to peak at Tadcaster at 9am on Sunday and will remain steady throughout the rest of the day (17.03.2019), with no further rise forecasted. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
